What packages do we put on a computer when we re-install Windows, brand new?
Java (always keep Java up to date or don't install it at all.)
LibreOffice, a Microsoft Office alternative, compatible with .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, and .pptx can also be installed, upon request.
Microsoft's built-in Antivirus is adequate to most users' needs. When extra protection is desired, we run additional scans with MalwareBytes.
