The necromancer would have been a boss that summons smaller enemies for the player to fight as well as summon lightning attacks. To avoid as much animating as possible, we decided to make the necromancer float around. We also decided we could re use the summon animation for his attack.

1st: Melee skeleton, Attack + Walk
2nd: Ranged skeleton, Attack + Walk
Step 1: Get the general body shape
Step 2: Add the detailed body outline (not pictured)
Step 3: Add the color and shading
Step 4: Get the cloak outline
Step 5: Add the details to the cloak
Step 6: Remove the unnecessary things and polish design
Step 7: Animate, for the idle it was done very similarly to step 4 done many times
Step 8: Animate, for the summon, getting the movements is most important first, then i added the details later which was comparatively easy
