Tips for your Personal Statement
This is your chance to show who you are. Reveal something that isn't in your application.
Be mindful of word choice, tone, and voice. Revise, revise, revise! Have someone else read it before submitting it.
Notify recommenders before asking for a letter of recommendation
Always ask if a teacher, counselor, coach, community member is willing to write a recommendation for you.
Ask well ahead of the deadline to give the recommender lots of time. The minimum amount of time should be two weeks.
