Nickel (1907-26)

In 2009 I was fortunate to purchase a collection of Nickel and Dark Red & Green parts - this opened up a new era for me, one I knew little about but has quickly become a favourite in particular the ephemera of the period.

The parts were stored in old wooden boxes and a modern toolbox, some were in better condiion than others but will require some work before I can use them in a suitable model of the period. In late 2009 I acquired two 1920's No.6 outfit oak cabinets; it seemed a nice idea to recreate an early 1920's Nickel No.6 and while there are several parts missing including a correct manual to complete the outfit I think one can get an impression of how impressive this outfit was which in it's day would have cost 150/-.

The cabinets are on the whole original with scratches and areas where the varnish has worn away, the compartments have been repaired and altered slightly at sometime.

This is a long term project and we have a way to go before it's complete.
