Do you love flowers and gardening? Do you wish you had someone to give you a little encouragement or advice on how to create a beautiful garden or flower arrangement? Then visit one of our Federated Garden Clubs. You’ll meet interesting, knowledgeable people who will offer you a treasure trove of experience and creativity
Club members will offer a warm welcome not only to the meetings but to their gardens. They may also share divisions or cuttings of their favorite plants. Monthly meetings may offer programs by local or state experts on garden related subjects.
Some of the larger clubs have annual flower shows that feature horticulture, design and educational exhibits.
Educational exhibits can be on any subject of interest to gardeners such as specific plants, growing in difficult conditions, birds, butterflies, pests, environmental concerns, design principles or techniques or garden club objectives.
Federated clubs are members of the National Garden Clubs, Inc. (NGC). The NGC was founded in 1929 to promote the love of gardening, floral design and civic and environmental responsibility. It offers schools on gardening, landscape design, environmental studies and flower shows. Community service projects are an important element of federation membership.
The NGC offers many awards for civic development, conservation, design, garden therapy, horticulture, landscape design, and youth activities. It awards scholarships to local college students enrolled in subjects related to horticulture.
The knowledge and friendships gained from garden club membership will enrich your life. Come join the fun by contacting a club president for meeting dates and times.
