Priming and more sanding

After several more rounds of Rage Gold filler and blocking, I decided things were levelled off enough, I took it outside and cleaned off all the dust. From there it was just a matter of masking off everything in the garage, setting up some ventilation fans, and shooting some Featherfill primer...which sprays like peanut butter, even with a 2.3 tip. Adding some acetone to the mix and cranking up the pressure at the gun helped.

All told, it took about 5 coats to shoot the entire galon...nice to have it one solid color again.

Then to break out yo olde sanding blocks and go to work, first with 220 then 400. Dust everywhere. Burned through on a few edges, so decided to get another gallon and shoot it again.

And outside after blowing off all of the extra dust....
