Welcome to my home page!
I am a Senior Research Scientist at the Wyss Academy for Nature of the University of Bern. I work with an interdisciplinary research team on projects aiming to accelerate the transition towards a new model of artisanal gold mining in the Peruvian Amazon Forest.
Previously, I served as the chair of the Economics Department of Universidad de Piura and director of the Lima School of Economics. Earlier in my career, I worked as a research fellow at the London School of Economics (STICERD) studying anti-poverty programs designed to empower adolescent girls in Africa. I have also worked as a consultant for international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank.
I hold a PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2019), a master’s degree in Economics from Barcelona School of Economics (2013), and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad de Piura (2010).
