Purpose:
This Guide was designed to help you understand the detailed and specific way we have constructed the Ascension Combo Triggers for Raiding with Fallen Under, as well as, to set-up the Macros that correspond to all the necessary triggers for Every Single Ascension Class Combo. We will be fine-tuning this process as we learn more about how the Combos and Ascension classes interact, as well as (potentially) specifying what Ascension Class we would like specific Character Classes to use, and (potentially) the casting order of Ascension spells to use in order to maximize debuffing and damage output. In this respect, we have the expectation that you, as a Raider, will eventually have ALL 4 ascension classes.
Overview:
There are 24 Ascension Combos, 6 for each Ascension Class and 2 of the 6 correspond to the other 3 Ascension Classes that you are NOT using.
(For example: if you are an Elementalist, you will have 2 combos that correspond to Etherealist Spells, 2 that correspond to Geomancer Spells, and 2 that correspond to Thaumaturgist Spells. In turn, each of those 3 classes has 2 combos that correspond to Elementalist)
We have created triggers for all 24 Ascension Combos in Advanced Combat Tracker (ACT) that will fire and tell you when it is time to cast the proper spell; however, for these to work, YOU will be responsible for managing your part in the process. This will be a requirement for Raiding. Be aware that there are some Triggers that DO NOT require any macro on your part to work, and you will automatically get the Verbal command from ACT, if you are configured properly.
What do Raider’s have to do?
First, you will ask for and be given (by an Officer) the proper Triggers for ACT. These Triggers will look like the following when ACT is open and you are on the “Custom triggers” Tab.
Example:
In ACT, when 3 Groups (above pic) are highlighted pink (and the Group Box is unchecked) the trigger is “inactive” and will not fire off. Looking at the picture above, you will see that only Etherealist is Active (Green). This means that you are (or should be) using the Etherealist Ascension Class.
(Note: That “v1.1” is the latest version of the triggers.)
If you change your Ascension Class, you will need to activate the proper Trigger Group Box you are swapping to. Simply uncheck the box next to the Group (in this case “Combos Etherealist v1.0” - circled in Red in the above picture), until everything is highlighted pink (inactive). Then, you check the Ascension Trigger Group that you want to use, until the group of Triggers (for example: Combos Elementalist) is checked and highlighted green (Active).
Example:
Yes…it is that simple! The key will be to make sure you have the proper triggers checked while raiding, or you will be getting the wrong triggers for the wrong Ascension Class.
Next…
As you add new Ascension Spells and Ascension Classes, YOU will need to be able to configure “Your Macros” and update them as you build the Ascension Class you are working on. The following will be an example of how (and why) a macro will be set up in the way we are currently requiring. As stated previously, we may change/add additional requirements. Currently, every macro will have 2 or 3 Commands and the proper spell inserted.
Examples:
1. /cl
2. /cancel_spellcast
3. /Say Surge Xxxxx
4. “Spell Icon of the spell you are Editing”
If there is NO /say command, your Macro will trigger automatically, when the spell you cast lands, and your Macro will look like the following with 2 command lines:
1. /cl
2. /cancel_spellcast
3. “Spell Icon of the spell you are Editing”
To create the Macro, all you need to do is add an ascension spell to your Hot Bar, right click on the Ascension Spell Hot Button on your Hot Bar, and select “Create Macro”. This will pull up the “Edit Macro” window, automatically insert the Ascension spell you are editing, and create a “Macro Name”. It will also use the proper Ascension Spell icon for the Macro. It should look like the following for each Ascension Spell Macro that you create.
Next…
You will add 3 command lines (or only 2 if you do not need a /say command for a trigger to fire off). The drop down box should automatically default to “Command” as the option listed, so all you should have to do is hit the “Add Step” button 2 or 3 times. If the drop down box is defaulted to something else, click the arrow for the drop down box, select “Command”, then hit the “Add Step” button 2 or 3 times. Now, use the arrow buttons next to the macro steps to move the Ascension Spell to the bottom of the list of command steps. You want them in the order of 1-4 (or 1-3) above (to stay consistent). Once you have them in order, you can type the commands in the command lines, as shown above. ALL your Macros should look exactly the same with the proper spelling and /say command inserted. When you are done, your macro should look like the following, with the spell name you have used and the corresponding spell to cast:
(Note: The White Arrow is pointing to the dropdown box you would use to change Macro Steps)
What Do These Macros Do?
They immediately allow you to interrupt your casting order to instantly cast the macro’d Ascension Spell for your combo. In order for the ACT triggers to work, THEY MUST BE SET UP THIS WAY! Do Not add your own personal text, as it WILL NOT activate the trigger! The command /cl clears the ability queue of the next spell waiting to cast. The command /cancel_spellcast cancels the spell you are currently casting, and the /say command broadcasts a message which allows ACT to announce the specified trigger. Leave the /say command out, if there is nothing to copy for that particular spell below. The list below will tell you which spell corresponds to the one you are casting and provide the proper Text to copy and paste into the /say command for that Macro. IMPORTANT: Again, You MUST use the correct /say command with the correct casting spell and corresponding spell in your macro in order for the ACT trigger to work properly, and these /say Command must be spelled and capitalized correctly, as well as have the proper symbols and spacing, in order for these triggers to work. The say commands below go into the macro of the spell you are “Casting”, as in the example picture above.
***If you cut and paste the following /say commands into your macro, you should have no issues***
Elementalist:
Elemental Amalgamation: /say Surge Mudslide
Scorched Earth: /say Surge Ethermancy
Brittle Armor: /say Surge Ethershadow Assassin
Frozen Heavens: /say Surge Withering
Etherealist:
Etherflash: /say Surge Virulent Outbreak
Ethermancy: /say Surge Scorched Earth
Implosion: /say Surge Terrestrial Coffin
Cascading Force: /say Surge Revocation of Life
Geomancer:
Mudslide: /say Surge Elemental Amalgamation
Erosion: /say Surge Wildfire
Granite Protector: /say Surge Levinbolt
Terrestrial Coffin: /say Surge Implosion
Thaumaturgist:
Revocation of Life: /say Surge Cascading Force
Virulent Outbreak: /say Surge Etherflash
Withering: /say Surge Frozen Heaven
Blood Contract: /say Surge Stone Hammer
***Suggestion: Copy and paste the above /say commands into a Word Document to Text Document and open that file to use when making macros to allow you to copy and Ctrl+v (paste) them into your Macro Step that requires the /say command***
