Children's Ministry

First Baptist Church has many opportunities for children to be involved in learning and worship. Sunday School classes for 3 years old through 6th grade provide a time of Bible study.

Our Wednesday night AWANA has clubs that includes Bible study, scripture memorization and game time.

Children’s Church during Sunday morning worship service, provides special worship opportunities for 3 years old through 2nd grade.

Vacation Bible School gives children a special learning experience each summer.

Youth Ministry

Our Youth Director works with the 7th through 12th grade students. Students are involved in Sunday School, Sunday Morning Worship, Youth Group Bible Study on Sunday nights and FBC Douglass Youth Group on Wednesdays nights.

There are special events, trips and outreach ministry opportunities for the youth in a structured but relaxed atmosphere throughout the year.

Adult's Ministry

Adult Sunday School is available for college age through senior adults. Sunday School provides in-depth Bible studies for each age group.

Prayer Meeting and Bible Studay is on Thursday evening. This provides time for adults to gather and pray for those in our community who are in need and to develope a more personal relationship with our Lord.

Men and Women also conduct various Bible studies at different times of the year.

Music

Special music during Sunday morning worship, and cantatas at Christmas and Easter, provide opportunities for those who enjoy music to minister to others through song. Individuals are welcome to provide special music during Sunday morning worship.

Children can enjoy music during Sunday School, Children’s Church, seasonal dramas and AWANA.

Prison Ministries

The church supports an outreach ministry to the prison facility located in Rusk. A weekly Bible study is conducted. This provides the inmate the opportunity to study the Lords teachings and to begin living for the Lord, even in incarceration.
