Awana is an international Bible-centered study for Children and youth ministry. Providing local churches with weekly clubs and programs for preschool through high school. It's goal is to reach boys and girls and their families with the gospel of Christ and train to serve Him. The acronym Awana comes from the first letter of "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" taken from 2nd Timothy 2: 15.
Awana began in 1950 as a youth program at the North Side Gospel Center in Chicago, Illinois. Other churches heard about the success of the Awana program and asked if they could use it. More than 10,400 churches in the United States run Awana. There are clubs in all 50 states. Awana can now be found in 3,200 churches in 109 other countries and six continents.

Sparks build on the material taught in our preschool club. The Sparks program is firmly grounded in Scripture. The handbook features basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation, the Bible, and Scripture memory. Sparks club meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement including segments for Bible teaching, scripture memorization, and age-appropriate games on the Awana game circle. Along the way, Sparky, the friendly firefly encourages boys and girls to learn verses and complete assignments throughout the handbooks.
