About Me

My Origins: I am from Sterling, OH. I grew up in a log cabin!! I went to college in Mount Vernon, OH where I met my wife, Samantha. We have lived in Ohio, Missouri, and now Iowa. She is a 4th year medical student at the University of Iowa. We have one beautiful daughter, as you can see. Her name is Maya and was born May 29th 2009 (at 3 in the morning on graduation day). My Professional Background:I have taught in Ohio, Missouri, and now Iowa. I am certified in 7-12 mathematics and also have a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology. In Missouri, I was a 7th grade math teacher. At Regina I teach Algebra I, Algebra Ia, AP Calculus AB/BC, and HS Calculus. I am also the Webmaster here which means I handle updates to our website. I am the Math Department Chair, Spirit Club Moderator, and the Math Club Moderator.My Interests:

I love being outside!! Would rather have severe cold than heat. I like construction and building. I did this for a summer job since the age of 16 up until my daughter was born 2 years ago when I started staying home with her in the summer. On my own house, I have installed a sun dome, built a deck, put in a door to the deck, put in a window, refinished my bathroom (painted, new toilet, new sink, tiled floor), and just finished pouring a colored and stamped patio under my deck. Most of these projects I had help from either my father or my father-in-law.
