Fantasy Trip

Fantasy Trip was one of the earliest FRP games I can remember playing, along with the original D&D. It struck my fancy because of the gunpowder elements included, along with the lizardmen and other non-human character options. I still can see my group of friends running around with petards screaming "runaway!!!" after it had been placed. Was great fun. On top of that was the simplicity of the system, it was quick to teach and you got straight into the action.

My nostalgia about it finally got the better of me and I resurrected my copy of the rules and set about trying to play it again, and hence this web site. As you will have seen I am very keen at setting up web sites for my games (but then never doing much else.. sigh). Part of the reason is because I do a fair amount of work setting up these games and it seems such a waste to not get something a bit more lasting out of that work. Hence my numerous partial web sites.

The attached world and adventures were developed for a test game I wanted to play, basically a one scenario adventure to allow my group of players to expose themselves to the game and decide if they liked it. Once I got started on it however I took it further. I even found some of my notes from the old game, they must have been 15 years old....

I added the clerical powers to the game as there were none in the original game. You can ignore them if you like but there was a bit of a hole in the original rules with regard to healing. You essentially relied on your wizards and potions, which is not bad in itself. Depends on what sort of game you want to run. My players, well some of them, liked playing clerics.

A new variant of TFT campaign that I am working on.
