I will do my best to help!READ READ READ! Spend time reading for FUN! I don't want to see you fall behind due to missing school.
I will also recommend activities for you to do every day, espcially for religion, science, and social studies. What an experience! You get to learn away from your teacher and classmates! I am thinking and praying for you all. Please pray for me and my family.
God Bless!Mrs. Mattison

Some of you have asked about pictures of Lucille. Here you go! I'll try to keep it updated. :)

Miss you all!

Wednesday, May 6th

Hello fourth grade! I hope you all are having a wonderful week.

Here's a little update in my life:

Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo, Mr. Mattison and I got Robles for dinner. It was so delicious.

Lucy has been starting to smile. It's crazy how much she has grown so far!

We are working to potty train Clare. She is starting to get it, which makes us very excited. She likes it too, because she gets M&M's if she uses the potty.

I am looking forward to spending Mother's Day with my family. I'm excited to give my mother her Mother's Day gift! I hope she likes it!

What's new with you all? Update your "My Life Update" Google Slide. If you don't know how to get to it, please email me. :) It's in your Google Drive as well as Google Classroom.

MAY is the month of MARY!

So, for the next three days (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday), I would like you to research a Marian Apparition. What is a Marian Apparition? They are times when our Blessed Mother has appeared to people! Please choose a Marian Apparition that you DO NOT know much about. For example, if you know a lot about Our Lady of Guadalupe maybe choose another apparition to research. Again, pick one you want to learn about. I attached a "Marian Apparition Explore Guide" to help you with your Google Slide (scroll to the bottom of this email). If you have a printer, you are welcome to print it off. :) You can make a new Google Slide and share it with me.

Don't forget we have a ZOOM tomorrow at 10:00!

Have a great day!!

Remember this Marian assignment is for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. AND don't forget Aleks and Lexia each day!!!

Love and miss you all,

Mrs. Mattison

Hi everyone!

I hope you had a nice weekend. NEXT weekend (Sunday) is Mother's Day, maybe think of something you can do for your mom. Perhaps you can help your dad or siblings come up with a gift! In my garage I have little flower pots. I bought them back in February so we could plant flowers for your moms. I am sad I won't be able to use them.

Today, don't forget to login to Aleks and Lexia. Remember, after you do 20 minutes of each you can login to other sites.

Assignment for MONDAY AND TUESDAY, due Wednesday!

(You will not receive an email on Tuesday. But don't forget we have ZOOM Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.)

I found a science experiment for you to do. Check it out!

https://mysteryscience.com/mini-lessons/spring-flowers?code=4acc2572128c8588b8da9fc117d6eac8

After you watch the video answer these questions and email them back to me:

1. How do flowers bloom in the spring?

2. What did this lesson make you curious about? What other questions do you have about flowers?

Bonus Activity (not required, but I encourage you to try it!) : You can see for yourself how water moves inside a plant. Fill a glass with water and add a few drops of red or blue food coloring. Place a white flower in the glass. Wait a few hours and watch to see what happens. Look closely at the flower petals. What do you notice? Repeat this experiment, but use a stalk of celery or a lettuce leaf. What do you predict will happen?

Here are some videos for you to experiment with:

Color changing flowers and celery

I can't wait to see you all tomorrow during our ZOOM!

Free Online Resources

In preparation of possible school closings due the the COVID-19, I have compiled free resources for families to take advantage of.

I DO NOT recommend spending a majority of the day in front of a screen, however, these resources will be helpful if schools were to close.
