This page provides the patches that translate the original Chinese version of The Legend of Sword and Fairy into English, as well as modding tools.
In the spirit of openness, the toolset that I created for the purpose of translating text into English is now available for download. Anyone can download the toolset for themselves and edit the dialogue texts. Feel free to make your own translations or take mine and edit it. If you do use my translations as your basis, please just list me (Ric) in your credits. The Chinese Paladin English Forum is a great place for discussions and sharing. If you want me to link to your translations on this site, feel free to contact me.
LSF English Version Patches
Download latest version. Note: this is a work in progress and NOT a finished product.
Older files in repository.
Only the latest version is needed. Copy all files from the latest archive in the repository, and paste the files to the Chinese version of the LSF game to patch it into English. Override existing files, and launch the game with Palgame_eng.exe. You'll need a copy of the original Chinese game in order to play the English version.

Download here: A modding tool for The Legend of Sword and Fairy. Able to edit talk*.dat files, and allow you to change the dialogue texts from Chinese to English, or edit the texts however you like.
Note: "LSF Toolset.exe" is the only file needed from the downloaded zip. It can open talk*.dat files. Make sure you have a backup copy of your files before you edit them! In case things go bad. I have not created an undo function in the toolset, so if you make a mistake, there is no going back!
Note 2: The Toolset is preliminary. The length of each line in the script cannot change. If you edited a line and entered more characters in a line than what it originally had, then the rest of the new line would be cut off.
