Mission Statement

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Fairbanks Figure Skating Club is to provide programs to encourage community-wide participation and achievement in the sport of figure skating in the North Star Borough.

The Fairbanks Figure Skating Club (FFSC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement, practice, and instruction of the sport of figure skating in the North Star Borough community. The club is a member of U.S. Figure Skating. Over the past 29 years, the FFSC has helped members of the community, ages 2 to 80, develop their skills as competitive and recreational skaters. Competitive members of our organization have trained locally and participated in such national competitions as the U.S. National Figure Skating Championships, U.S. Junior National Championships, National Collegiate Championships, the World Special Olympics and the Arctic Winter Games.

The club's main goal is to make the sport of figure skating fun for all ages. The FFSC comprises dedicated parents, determined skaters, and experienced coaches, all of whom support a family oriented environment, sportsmanship, and a strong fellowship within the club as well as with the surrounding community. The FFSC welcomes anyone wishing to join the club, skate with club members, or attend events that encourage achievement in the sport of figure skating.
