We are seeking adults to participate in our research to understand how the nervous system controls muscles, particularly as it applies to everyday movements and exercise. Your participation could help inform how we can use exercise to improve mobility in older adults or people with Parkinson's disease. Read about our current studies below. If you are interested in participating, contact us and we'll be able to determine if you qualify for our study. Contact information is provided at the bottom of each section.
This study focuses on the effect that exercise has on symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
Participants will have either 2 visits (within ~1 week) or 16 visits (~8 weeks) to the laboratory depending on whether they choose to participate in the full exercise program. The supervised exercise requires about 30 minutes of time per session.

This study focuses on physical and cognitive quickness in older adults.
One part of this project investigates the unique characteristics of people with a history of very high activity levels (current marathoners, multi-day hikers, distance bicyclists and others).
A second part of this project seeks typically active adults to participate in a test of an experimental bicycling program. If you qualify, you will be randomly assigned to the exercise group or the control group. The exercise group requires 12 exercise sessions and 2 test sessions before and after the program. The control group requires 2 test sessions.
