Shelby graduated from Penn State with BS degree chemical engineering with a focus on polymer science and engineering, and sustainability. Currently, she is studying structure-property relationships of plant cell walls through mechanical testing and x-ray scattering for application to the development of biomaterials. Outside of lab, she works with the Millennium Scholars Program as a tutor and mentor for students in STEM. Additionally, she is also a part of NOBCChE and NSBE.
