LAC Goals
EDUCATE
- Provide workshops twice a year
- Attend statewide workshops to stay current on Rhode Island regulations and learn new opportunities for parent involvement
INFORM
- Provide annual report to school committee
- Comment on applications for federal and state funds
- Inform school district on matters re: unmet needs of students with disabilities
- Comment on improvement plans to include school support plans
- Advertise meetings
- Provide resource
- Resource books and filing cabinets in schools
SERVE
- As advocates in partnership with parents of students with disabilities to ensure they receive the entitlements provided to them under state and federal laws
