Neuroscience and Psychoanalysis. 

Introduction: Carlo Semenza.

The symposium will be briefly introduced by Carlo Semenza by underlining theoretical and methodological affinities between cognitive neuropsychology and psychoanalysis; the claim will be made that a common ground could be found through the mediation of cognitive science; instances of domains whereby the interaction could be fruitful will be illustrated.

Mark Solms will provide a broad description of the field of so called "neuropsychoanalysis". Aikaterini Fotopoulou, Nikolai Axmacher and Lionel Naccache will illustrate examples of relevant empirical work.

Uri Hadar will briefly discuss the matter from the perspectives of cognitive neuroscience and psychoanalysis.
