There seems, in Australia at least, to be a growing divide between shooters which is caused by the introduction of eTargets. Some are refusing to shoot serious events on eTargets while others are accepting less than satisfactory eTarget accuracy as normal. Fact and Myth is intertwined and the only way to cure this is with hard honest data available to clubs and top level sport administrators. Most eTarget makers do not provide useful data. Administrators need hard data to choose a suitable eTarget and this web site attempts to remedy this with objective data.
There are two ways any target may be substandard.
The first is target accuracy and repeatability. Unfortunately, shooters cannot reliably assess the accuracy of a target. It takes many carefully measured shots to do so and shooter's anecdotes are unreliable.
The second is target reliability which depends on cables, plugs, batteries and general maintenance. Shooter's experiences here are paramount and should not be ignored.
The articles on this web site are almost exclusively devoted to target accuracy and precision.
The first prerequisite is to choose a target with sufficient accuracy potential for the job, then work to maintain best accuracy with best practice.
