Questions About the Weekend

Kairos Prison Ministry is "God's Special Time". The mission of Kairos Prison Ministry is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, as well as their families, to become loving and productive citizens of their communities.

During the 3 1/2 day Weekend, the volunteers show the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ through talks, meditations, chapel visits, music, listening and Agape love.

We still need volunteers for our Spring & Fall Kairos Weekends. We need men like you who love Jesus Christ and are willing to be His hands and feet in sharing hope, love and forgiveness to men who are spiritually lost.

May I ask you to prayerfully consider answering Christ call to action in:

Matthew 25:36

“I needed clothes and you clothed me, (you will cloth them with love)

I was sick and you looked after me, (you will show them forgiveness)

I was in prison and you came to visit me.” (you will provide them hope)

After the Kairos Weekend, “Prayer and Share” accountability groups are held weekly, and Continuing Ministry with Kairos volunteers monthly.

The ultimate goal of Kairos is to build a Christian community to pray and fellowship together on a weekly basis by nurturing each other in their faith walk and providing accountability. This is the heart of Kairos!

The fact that we return again and again to each prison for Kairos Continuing Ministry is what distinguishes Kairos from other prison ministries. It can be very challenging to maintain a Christian lifestyle in prison, and without our follow up support, the efforts of the 3 ½ day retreat would quickly be lost to the prison environment.

Kairos has been called the best example of the early church in existence today. Its Team Members come from a variety of denominations whose focus is the main stream Christian teachings that center around Christ’s unconditional love.

With your commitment to Christ for this weekend, wayward men will have the opportunity to re-consider their life choices, take responsibility for their actions, and begin the transformation to make Jesus the center of their life.

Please watch the short video with Team Members' testimonies about their Kairos Weekend experiences. I hope these testimonies will help comfort you, to join with Jesus as you walk in faith to change a man’s eternal destination.

Inmate Participant's Testimony

"I can never re-pay Kairos for what it has done for me. I had made a mess of my life and ended up in prison. My family and society has abandoned me and I felt worthless. I was filled with hate and anger. But these Kairos men told me how much God loved me. I learned that God sent His only son to die for me, so I could be free. Hearing this, I realized the power of God's love. I will be forever grateful to Kairos for showing me the way to freedom is through the cross of Christ."
