I am an Associate Professor of Finance in the School of Banking and Finance, in UNSW Business School. I am also the president of FIRN (Financial Research Network), a fellow of the Asian Bureau of Economic and Finance Research (ABFER) and of the Asian Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association (AIEA), and an associate editor at the Journal of Financial Markets. I was Associate Dean (Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) at UNSW Business School from 2022-2024 and the head of the Digital Finance group at the CMCRC (Rozetta Institute) from 2017-2019.
My work focuses on empirical industrial organisation at the firm and market level, and I am particularly interested in innovation and commercialisation. Additional current and past work covers international finance and empirical methods.
I worked at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University from 2008-2016, was a Marie Curie Fellow for 2009-2011, a research fellow at the Duisenberg School of Finance from 2010-2014, and a Scientia Fellow (now Alumni) from 2017 to 2020. My work has been published in top finance and economics journals and has been presented at the AEA, AFA, WFA, EFA, FIRS among many other conferences. I have visited for extended periods at HEC Paris, LSE, Haas School of Business (UC Berkeley), Jones Graduate School of Business (Rice University), and the National University of Singapore.
I have a PhD and MSc from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, and a BSc from London School of Economics.
