Conditions and Rules
CONDITIONS AND RULES OF SWIM:
1. Entries will only be accepted on the official entry form or via the electronic application link as provided.
2. Entries received after the closing date will be considered as late entries.
3. No post-dated cheques or postal orders will be accepted.
4. Entry fees are payable in cash or by EFT into the Fund Raiser Account.
5. The event takes place irrespective of weather conditions, unless deemed unsafe by the organizers.
6. If event is cancelled before swim day due to conditions beyond the control of the organizers the cancellation will be posted on this open water swim web site.
7. Swimmers compete at their own risk.
8. No refunds will be paid out in the event of a cancellation. Monies received will be accepted as a donation.
9. It is the responsibility of the swimmer to ensure that he / she is medically fit to participate.
10. All swimmers are to wear a swimming cap. This is for easy identification of swimmers in the water by safety officials and life savers.
11. Swimmers will only be allowed to swim in the event determined by their age.
12. Swimmers may not receive assistance other than from lifesavers. Cubs may receive assistance.
13. Swimmers must be able to finish the 1,000m in 50min; the organizers have the right to remove a swimmer from the water if deemed necessary.
14. All swimmers are required to write the race number on their arm or chest with a permanent marker, finishing without a race number will lead to disqualification.
15. Only swimming goggles, nose clips and swim caps will be allowed as swimming aids – NO wet suits or ANY other aids (e.g. power bands). Cubs may use Personal Flotation Devices / Life jackets.
16. Swimmers not swimming the plotted course will be disqualified.
17. Any swimmers who fail to abide by these rules and conditions will be disqualified.
18. Proof of entry must be presented, if not found on the pre-entry list; the late entry fee will apply.
INDEMNITY
All swimmers compete at their own risk. By entering the starting pens you acknowledge that you have read and understood the event rules and have completed the event entry form including the release and waiver, in full.
WAIVER
Should it NOT BE POSSIBLE to hold the event, beyond the control of the Organising committee, no entry fees refunded.
NOTES
The Organisers reserve the right to accept or reject entries.
Photocopies of the entry form will be accepted.
The Organisers reserve the right to limit entries in each event.
The Organisers reserve the right to charge an administration fee for changes to a captured entry.
Right of admisson is reserved.
Entry fees are per person per event. Entry fees will not be refunded under any circumstance.
Please enclose your entry fee with your completed entry form.
Cheques will not be accepted.
