In people with brain tumor, seizures are one of the most common presentations.
Our current project is Clinical and molecular genetic factors affecting post-operative seizure outcome in tumor-related epilepsy (Tumor-Related Epilepsy Study, TREP), approved by UM ethics committee on 21 Dec 2020.
Our study aims to
Determine the factors that result in seizures for people with brain tumors.
Study the clinical factors that lead to favourable outcome after operation.
Determine survival outcome after operation
Determine the gene associated with seizure in people with brain tumor.
This research is beneficial to patients, family and public, clinicians, hospitals, industry and research partners.
Our team is made up of UM Epilepsy research group, a collaboration with Department of Surgery and Faculty of Science in UM, led by Professor Dr Lim Kheng Seang.
