Abstract:
In the recent years Power Electronics and Drives Technology has gone through intense developments. This seminar gives a perspective of the technology which emphasis size optimization, energy savings and performance enhancement. The recent advances of Power Semiconductors are reviewed and the future potential of SiC is discussed. The recent advances and future trends of the devices, Converters, machines, DSPs, FPGAs, are widely reviewed, giving examples of their applications. Finally future scenario of Power Electronics and Drives Technology is reviewed.
Biography:
Dr. V. Kamaraj obtained B.Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from NSS College of Engineering. He obtained M.E in Power Electronics and Ph.D in Networks in 1992 and 2001 respectively. He served Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering from1989 to 2001.From associate lecturer he was elevated to various positions in Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering and finally served as professor in the EEE department. He was responsible for the setting up of Research Centre.
Presently he is working as Professor in the Department of EEE, SSN College of Engineering.
His main area of interest is Electromagnetic Design and Power Electronics. He is the Member Board of Studies, Anna University. He is guiding 7 research scholars of Anna University. He has more than 25 publications in conferences and two in journals.
