Embodied rationality is a project I have been pursuing with the intent to integrate the research in Simonian bounded rationality (and later developments) with the new thread in cognitive science called 'embodied cognition'. For more info, please visit the project webpage [this page is no longer updated].
Given the plurality of approaches within embodied cognition, my view has gone in the direction of becoming consequently plural about the modalities of integration with bounded rationality. Lately, I've been exploring the possibility of introducing four alternative notions of embodied rationality: embodied bounded rationality, body/somatic rationality, extended rationality, and radical embodied rationality. These concepts are sorted in increasing order of embodied radicalism, i.e., the extent to which they give up the representational constructs of classical cognitive science.Â
