🔵 Welcome to my website!
I am Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science and Public Law, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
I hold a PhD in Political and Social Sciences (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, 2012). Previously I was Juan de la Cierva-Formación (2015-2016) and Juan de la Cierva-Incorpación (2017-2019) post-doctoral researcher at the Democracy, Elections and Citizenship (DEC) at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and research fellow at the Institutions and Political Economy Research Group (IPErG), Universitat de Barcelona (UB).
My research interests are focused on political behaviour, elections, parties, electoral systems, populism and political psychology. I have also largely worked on identities, decentralisation and territorial preferences.
Currently I am leading two research projects from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. The REPBIAS project, devoted at understanding how electoral institutions distort representation in democracies; and the ATTCLIMATE project, which deals with attitudes towards climate change and acceptance of public policies aimed at tackling it.
I also co-lead, together with Carol Galais, the European project TaCT-FoRSED in Spain (February 2025 to January 2028). “Tackling Conspiracy Theories by Fostering Resilience and Self-Efficacy of Democracy” (TaCT-FoRSED) is a project funded by the European Commission through the Horizon Europe programme (DEMOCRACY-01-04). The project is coordinated by the University of Passau, has a total budget of approximately €2.5 million, and more than half a million of this amount is allocated to the UAB. The project addresses the growing erosion of trust in democratic institutions and the parallel increase in belief in conspiracy theories.
