Marc Guinjoan is research fellow at the Institutions and Political Economy Research Group, headed by Dr. Carles Boix (Princeton University and Universitat de Barcelona).  

I hold a PhD in Political and Social Sciences (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, 2012). Previously I was Juan de la Cierva-Formación (2015-2016) and Juan de la Cierva-Incorpación (2017-2019) post-doctoral researcher at the Democracy, Elections and Citizenship (DEC) at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and I worked for the Making Electoral Democracy Work project in the Department of Political and Social Scienes at UPF

My research interests are focused on political behaviour, elections, parties, populism and electoral systems, as well as on processes of decentralization, identities, nationalism and secession. I have published my work in reviews such as EJPREPSR, Political Psychology, Political Geography, Public Opinion Quarterly or Publius, among others, and I have a book published by Ashgate Publishing.  

I have been visiting scholar at the Université de Montréal and Universität Mannheim during my PhD, as well as postdoctoral guest researcher at the University of Western Ontario and University of Copenhagen.
