Welcome to my website!

I am a postdoctoral fellow in de Department of Political Science and Public Law at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, working in the research group Democracy, elections and citizenship. I hold a PhD in Political and Social Sciences (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, 2012). Previously I have worked for the Making Electoral Democracy Work project in the Department of Political and Social Scienes at UPF

My research interests include electoral systems and party strategiesI am also interested in electoral behaviour, in decentralisation processes and in nationalism

Together with Toni Rodon and Marc Sanjaume, both also from the UPF, I write in a blog called El Pati Descobert (in Catalan), where we analyse from a politological perspective the political events that surround us. Last year we published the book "Catalunya, un pas endavant" (Irla Foundation political essay prize 2013), which analyses the events occurred in Catalonia in the last decade that have left an increase in support for secession.

In September 2014 Ashgate published my first academic book: Parties, Elections and Electoral Contests. Competition and Contamination Effects, where I analyse party entry decisions in contexts of non-viability: When, why and under which circumstances parties decide to compete when they do not have chances to achieve representation. You can also read some pages on Google Books.
