Installation is very simple and straight forward. It involves screwing a PCB to the inside of your backbox, unplugging and re-plugging a few connections, and securing some cables. However if you feel uncomfortable doing the installation yourself, please consult with a friend or someone else more experienced that you trust inside your pinball machine. Any damage to personal property or undesired operation of your pinball machine that results after installation of this kit is your responsibility! By following this guide you agree to assume all risks to the kit, your game, your property, and yourself.
Step 1: Install LEDs in your GI. Power up and test the new LEDs to make sure everything is working before proceeding.
Step 2: Power down the machine, remove the translight, and open the backbox door.
Step 3: Screw the board into the backbox just above the power supply, to the left of the metal vent. If your kit shipped with 1" mounting screws use the included nylon spacers underneath each screw head. If you have the 3/4" screws, spacers are not needed.
Step 4: Unplug the cable from Power Supply connector CN9. This is the 4-pin connector that is mounted in-line on yellow and white wires. Using the 4-pin extension cable from the kit, extend this connection up to P1 on the EnerGI Maestro.
Step 5: Unplug the cable from Power Supply connector CN8. This is a 9-pin connector with 8 wires. Using the 9-pin extension cable from the kit, extend this connection up to P4 on the EnerGI Maestro.
Step 6: Unplug the cable from Power Supply connector CN7. Take note if this is a 3-pin connector or a 5-pin connector for the next step. Using the 5-pin extension cable from the kit, extend this connection up to P3 on the EnerGI Maestro. If your CN7 connection is only 3 pins, plug it onto the 5-pin extension cable straddling the key (missing) pin. This is the only way it will connect.
Step 7: If your CN7 header was 3-pin, skip this step. If your CN7 cable was a 5-pin header, install the 2-pin to 5-pin patch cable from the EnerGI Maestro P2 to the Power Supply connector CN7.
Step 8: Secure your cables in the existing plastic wire clamps.
Installation is complete! Power up and test it out. If installation was a success your GI should come on smoothly and the red lights on the EnerGI Maestro will cycle back and forth to indicate operation. Proceed to PROGRAMMING to tweak your settings.
