eNAP Educational Program
06-08-2026 "From Chaos to Control: Keys to Effective Meetings" presented by J. Cherise Story, PRP CEU-Approved
Part 1 -- Education Committee members will present a program on the topics as shown below, based primarily on the Registered Parliamentarian Performance Expectations (RP-PE) as indicated below. See these on pp 7-28 in NAP's Criteria For Credentialing (CFC):
The resources to be used in conjunction to prepare to meet these RP standards include (CFC p. 6):
➢ Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised (12th edition)
➢ Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised in Brief (3rd edition)
➢ Code of Professional Responsibility for Parliamentarians
➢ Professional Practices in Parliamentary Procedure (2021, NAP), cited as PPPP (available only to NAP members; login to bookstore first).
➢ Pathways to Proficiency - Script Writing Made Easy (Updated for RONR, 12th ed.)
The education workshops are generally based on the RP-PE (see above). The RP-PE is essential for those preparing for the RP exam, and it is solid parliamentary education for all levels of membership.

EDUCATION PROGRAM
June 8th, Cherise Story, PRP, will present the lesson on "From Chaos to Control: Keys to Effective Meetings", CEU-Approved. Following that presentation, a parliamentary question-and-answer opportunity is given to guests and members.

If you have never attended an eNAP meeting, please plan to arrive 5 to 10 minutes before the call to make sure you understand how the meeting will be conducted and to talk with other attendees. Reviewing our introduction page to familiarize yourself with the eNAP chat room and terminology is strongly recommended.
If you are not yet an eNAP member and would like to join, you may complete and submit the application form. Applications by NAP members are approved automatically upon verification of their NAP membership. Application by those who are not NAP members may be approved after they have attended at least one unit meeting.

The Regular Meeting of May 11th, 2026, of the eNAP Unit of the National Association of Parliamentarians (eNAP) was held online via Zoom and called to order by President Roberta Berry at 7:30 PM CT (U.S. Central Time), with Belinda Brouette serving as secretary. A quorum was present.

The April 13th, 2026 minutes were approved as corrected.
Education Program
The unit recessed for the education program at 7:32 PM CT. Vice President Sean Schilke introduced Patricia J. Titus, PRP, as our featured speaker for the evening. Her presentation, “To Be or Not to Be Nominated, That Is the Question,” provided an overview of nominations under Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised (12th ed.).
The meeting resumed at 8:54PM CT.
Membership Committee: Two new members: Michael Jordan, Jon Woods
Education Committee: An oral report was given. Next month’s program is by J. Cherise Story, CPA, MBA, PRP titled, “From Chaos to Control: Keys to Effective Meetings.”
Bylaws Committee: The Bylaws Committee recommended the adoption of the substitute Amendment to Article VI, Section 6, and the adoption of Standing Rule 14.
Unfinished Business: Article VI, Section 6, was amended by substituting the following:
Article VI, Section 6. Notice. (a) Method of Notice. All notices shall be given by e-mail to the e-mail address on file for each member. (b) Calculation of Time. Due to members being in different time zones, a notice requirement for N days shall mean N times 24 hours. (c) Regular Meetings — Schedule Changes. A notice of 5 days shall be required for any regular meeting with a change to the scheduled date, time, or place. (d) Submission Deadline for Matters Requiring Previous Notice. Any previous notice must be submitted in writing to the Executive Board at least 7 days prior to the meeting. All matters timely submitted under this subsection shall be included in the call of the meeting. (e) Transmission of the Call. Any required call of the meeting shall be sent at least 5 days prior to the meeting. Failure of an officer or body to send the call of the meeting at least 5 days prior to the meeting shall not invalidate notice of any matter timely submitted under subsection (d).
Standing Rule 14 was adopted as follows:
14. For purposes of submitting written proposals, amendments, and other matters to the Executive Board, communications may be delivered by email to contact@enapunit.org.
