Who What Why
What is this ELR&SS?
It's roots extend back further than I can possibly remember, as I was about 1 (or not even a twinkle in the eye depending on when you would consider a start) when the shenannigans began. Suffice it to say that the founding father, one James T. Lenzke began attending the June Sprints at Elkharts Lake's Road America racetrack long ago. It became a yearly outing for him and whomever he could convince to trot along, usually a few high school buddies and assorted loosely related relatives. Blah, blah, blah, the story goes on, and the group was officially named, signage created, and the story continues.
Who are these honyaks?
In his own superfluous words, "Founder and chief chili chef, whose duty it is to prepare and deliver the ritualistic Annual Call to Conclave." A man of many words, few actions, and a mean right hand, useful for many things including holding a small gin-swilling glass (he swills, not the glass). Had his gall bladder burst by fellow members winger-ing him during a lengthy throne session in the tin shack.
