Naples based Italian composer Elio Martusciello marks this 2024 with a new release. "Akousma-Mother" comes as some sort of autobiographical work and a tribute to his mother who passed away recently. A significant part of the source material has been provided by his long standing trio Ossatura, while the main reflection behind the album is about the human being's pre-birth acousmatic experience.
This is a kaleidoscopic piece of work showing multiple sides and featuring material from both the inside (behind-the-scenes sounds and sketches) and the outside of Martusciello's music experience.
A wide range map including: acousmatic music, electroacoustic improvisation, experimental rock, ambient, song form, etc. In short, this album offers a double listening experience based on both Martusciello's original sound practices and Ossatura's live improvisational approach.
“Akousma-Mother: our first immersion into this world is amniotic and acousmatic. Only much later, once the umbilical cord is cut and we are thrown into the new world, we endure the limits of the visible. The eye is the realm of the real, but it is only from the deep spiritual listening that the dream emerges.”
