Principal investigator
I study the algorithms that govern people's behavior, how these algorithms different from person to person, and how they are implemented in the brain.
PhD student & lab manager
I am interested in mood dynamics in health and disease. Using a custom mobile app and portable physiological sensors, I collect longitudinal data to develop a computational framework that captures the key factors that govern mood psychopathologies.
PhD student
I study the cognitive and neural mechanisms that shape how humans learn from reward. To do so, I integrate computational modeling with fMRI analysis.

I'm interested in how people integrate between sensory stimuli and their prior expectations about the stimuli; particularly, how this is affected by anxiety. I'm also interested in how this integration is reflected in the balance between excitation and inhibition in the brain.

My research focuses on the differences between emotional and rational evaluations and how conflicts between the two might affect behavior and mental health. I study the existence of these discrepancies using computational models for behavioral tasks and explore their implications for self-control, optimism, and various mental disorders through simulated decision-making agents.

I am interested in how emotional states influence decision-making and learning mechanisms.
MA student
I study how and why people form goals, using behavioral experiments and EEG recordings to understand when desired outcomes become active goals and how that might be related to mental health.
