Women in Science Day 2021

February 11th, 2021- The Second Annual Celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science held virtually at Albert Einstein College of Medicine

Mission

Women in Science Day at Albert Einstein College of Medicine aims to highlight the achievements of women on our campus, promote productive conversations, and form a larger network of scientists. Einstein's Women in Science Day provides an opportunity for members of the Einstein community to build personal and professional skills, and focuses on building a stronger network of advocates for women scientists through interactive skills-based workshops, career panel, keynote speaker, and networking session.

The 6th Annual International Day of Women and Girls in Science is Thursday, February 11, 2021. In recognition of this day, the Women's Networking Group along with the Office of Career and Professional Development for Students and Postdocs and the Graduate Programs in the Biomedical Sciences, organized Einstein's second annual Women in Science Day to highlight and celebrate as a community women in science at Einstein and beyond. We hope the event promoted the need for increased equality in the field, and, importantly, provided members of the Einstein community an opportunity to learn new skills and be inspired. Women in Science Day 2021 was kindly sponsored by Elsevier.

This year's Women in Science had over 350 members of the Einstein community and beyond register for the event and over 300 people attend some portion of the event.

A special thank you to all those that volunteered their time to help make this event such a success. We especially thank the members of the Women in Science Day Planning Committee, the wonderful event speakers, Dr. Diane Safer with the Office of Career and Professional Development for Graduate Students & Postdocs, Renee Rodriguez with the Graduate Division, and Dr. Victoria Freedman with the Graduate Division.
