Views on Confederation

Edward liked the idea of confederation but he had some problems with it. Edward supported confederation in principle. For example, he had a problem with the extensive power it gave to a central government. Which to this day some people still have problems with. Also, when he went to the Québec Conference he thought and said that confederation would remove some or all of the rights of the provinces. Which did not stop confederation. So as you have read Edward had a positive view of confederation but he also had problems with it.
