The Book builder tool was pretty cool. I liked that it showed the way for what to do. I don't know if all students will use the coaches but I think they are an a unique tool. I found that there a few times when the application would not save some of my data. I would have to attempt several times to save information specifically with the use of the coaches. I think it is a nice tool because it will read the text for the students, it allows for audio to be added that might relate to the book. It may also help with keeping students interested because of the characters.

Creating a UDL electronic book was a good experience for several reasons including the bettering of reading comprehension, understanding main idea, and use of technology.
Creating interest in reading is a challenge with many learners. UDL Book Builder program makes reading both interesting and engaging for students. Having the learner become the author is a great way to engage or even stimulate interest in reading. The use of the animated coaches helps keep the learner involved in the material being read and can provoke higher order thinking.
Understanding main ideas is a key concept in reading comprehension. UDL's book builder is a way to focus that understanding by organizing the content of any literary work. With help of the student reflection section, Bookbuilder attempts to keep the reader focused on key concepts.
Finally, UDL Bookbuilder is a technology tool the students can couples literacy and technology in a very unique way. In the creation of an electronic book several technology standards are used.
I truly enjoyed the experience of UDL Bookbuilder. The program is user friendly and has unlimited possibilities

I enjoyed using the Book Builder program. I thought that it could be used as a useful tool for all students to use in every subject. I added the cartoon characters and even had one set to speak Spanish. Sometimes the system was extremely slow or did not update my images, but after working with it (and having some patience) I was able to create a lesson that I think the students would enjoy and can do on their own.

I really liked this application and can see the practical application of it in my Desktop Publishing class. The program was very easy to use and the layouts really made it easy to put the book together. It was also easy to publish and share with others. The only downside is that since it is published on the Internet I question the use of graphics in regards to copyright restrictions. I used images off the Internet and although I was able to add the source, I did not gain permission to use them. Therefore, am I violating copyright rules. It will be interesting to see if I can access this tool through my school's firewall. Maybe I will try to incorporate it in my DTP class.

I really enjoyed creating a book with Book Builder. I liked making my own book, but I had a difficult time uploading the pictures.I also noticed that the site was running slow. I will definitely use this program in the future. I think it would be fun for students to work with too.
