The Tale of Renewables and Recarbonization published in Eesti Päevaleht (in Estonian):
The morale of the renewables and recarbonization tale is that in the present and the near future a much larger wind and solar energy capacity is needed while the complete shutdown of coal and gas power plants is not advisable. Coal and gas power, if not permanently generated, will have to remain available at least as a means to decrease risk in the energy sector, contributing to the smoothing of electricity output in the short run. The option to tap from fossil sources of energy in Europe and in Estonia should not, however, imply a change in the trend in the decarbonization of electricity generation, for the sake of protecting the climate.
