The Department of Economics at the University of Calgary is hosting its 8th Empirical Microeconomics Workshop in Banff, Alberta, Canada, on September 13 and 14, 2025. This year's workshop aims to bring together researchers working in political economy. While we particularly welcome work in civil conflict and related areas, submissions in any area of political economy will be given full consideration. The workshop takes place in beautiful Banff, Alberta.
The program will include a keynote presentation by Chris Blattman.
DEADLINE: The deadline for submissions is May 1, 2025.
SUBMISSIONS: For this year’s workshop we invite submissions of political economy papers. While our keynote address will be in the area of civil conflict, we welcome submissions in any area in political economy. Additionally, we encourage submissions from scholars in all disciplines, including Economics, Political Science, and Public Policy. Established researchers as well as young scholars in the field are encouraged to submit. Complete papers are preferred but we will also consider extended abstracts with the main results.
