Glossary

Moodle glossaries are another tool with which students can construct their own knowledge. I have always told students that they are better off creating review sheets than filling them out, and creating glossary entries that other students can use puts this idea into action. In the example below two different students in Online Politics and Law created definitions for two important legal terms. Despite problems with mechanics, both demonstrate student understanding of the terms that extends beyond the text book definition. This tool also provided a means for keeping track of key vocabulary on the district common summative assessment while maintaining a constructivist focus.
