Elaine

Elaine Chung, born and raised in NYC, moved to Honolulu in 1977. She started practicing Iyengar Yoga in 1982 at the Silent Dance Center and taught her first class in 1989. She has studied with many Iyengar Yoga instructors, attended several Iyengar Yoga Conventions (1984 and 1987), and studied at the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India in 2000. Aadil Palkhivala, Jehangir Palkhivala and Kofi Busia are her main influences. Kofi Busia conducts a workshop each year at the center. She is a certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor since 1997 and opened East Honolulu Yoga Center in 1995.
