The early game was windy and then it got wet. The late game was wet, and then it got very wet, and then the rain stopped near the end.
Navy Blue's name is officially Nauti . They showed able seamanship versus REDemption in the early game. Nauti had a few breaks in the first half after taking advantage of Red’s mistakes near the end zone, spurred on by their zone pressure in the wind. Half ended with a fairly close score, Nauti up 8-6. Red featured enough veterans of the feared Black Pearl fall league squads of yore (or is it yar?), so they also handled the wet weather well, but Nauti played some lock down defense too, and they got the win 15-8, holding REDemption to two points in the second half.
Rain picked up as the late game got underway, but it never got bad enough that people wanted to stop. Overnight Oats was making steel cuts, while Beets kept their own rhythm. Both teams took advantage of wet disc and windy conditions to aid their defense, and there were a lot of breaks. Oats took half 8-4. Beets made a furious comeback in the second half, cutting the Oat lead to 11-9, but the Oats never surrendered. Oats got the win 15-10.

While the conditions tonight were challenging, it was a nice chance for club players to get some reps in before Sectionals this weekend, which are also expected to be rainy. Wishing luck to the Funk, as well as league players with Starling, Pterodactyl, Gemini, Starfire, and other club teams. Shout out also to East Fishkill alums Noam Fisherman and Walter Roosa with Blueprint.
