Following a rainout and Memorial Day, we played the second night of the summer 2024 season.

Big Disc Energy and shRED played a hotly contested match early, with BDE getting a narrow 12-10 victory.

Black Pearl continues to run a tight ship, bringing their new buccaneers up to speed. Area 51 continued to work on their alien vibes too, but the pirate ship defeated the space ship in prime time, 13-7 Black Pearl.

The nightcap under the lights featured White Lotus vs Blue Wave. The Wave started off hot with a tsunami of deep looks to establish a 7-2 lead. Rookies Sara and Jess were involved often with Sara throwing her first score, and Jess being heavily involved in the short passing game. Marisa, co-cap of White (while running savage herself) was not to be deterred. She simultaneously provided tips to surrounding players, and broke deep for several scores to help tighten the game going into the second half. What was once a 5 point lead evaporated into a 1 point game, but in the end Blue Wave was able to hold off White Lotus to secure a 15-13 win.

Shout out to all of this summer's team captains. As Marisa noted, "It seems like so far we have created a welcoming environment for all, esp our newer players. Taking opportunities to teach and prioritizing safety." I'm especially proud to see how newer players are being included on all teams, and the positivity across the league as a whole. Thank you to all our players for being part of this culture too!
