We continued our sad tradition of Monday rainouts again, but play resumed at the Kiln tonight with final tuneup games before Regionals for our league's club players who are bound for Devens, Massachusetts with the Funk and other teams. I'm proud of all our East Fishkill players past and present who are playing club. Represent!
The early game tonight was a rematch of Moldy Bats versus Zombeeeees. Bats had been close every game so far this season, but hadn't gotten into the win column. Tonight, they looked to break that streak, taking half over Bees with a huge lead. Bees were not prepared to go quietly, and they played a solid second half. In the end, though, it was the Bats' night, getting their first win of the season 14-10.
In the late game, shRED rematched with Spooky Scary Skeletons. The two teams had split their first two matchups this season, so this one would break that tie. shRED opened the game with a break and continued to tear it up, taking a big lead at half just like Bats had done in the early game. Just like Bees, the Skellies played a much improved second half, but shRED held them off to get the win 15-12.
Because of the rainouts, Bats and Skellies haven't played each other yet this summer, and Bees and shRED have only played each other once. Those matchups are scheduled this coming Thursday, so maybe they will actually happen. Monday's games - Skeletons vs Bees, followed by Bats vs shRED - are already being called into question because of the rain expected this weekend, but don't listen to those rumors. I don't know any meteorologists who play Frisbee.
