No rain since the weekend, and the field was still muddy. The mud was starting to set, though, so guess what's expected this weekend? If you guessed some rain to loosen up the mud... You're right! At least skies are supposed to clear for games next week.
The early game was monochromatic, as Moldy Bats faced Spooky Scary Skeletons in a game of black and white. It was a one point game throughout, with the teams trading points. Skellies took half 8-7. Of course the game came down to universe point as hard cap was called with the score tied 11-11. Skellies came through again, earning the 12-11 win, and haunting the Bats with another close loss.
shRED faced Zombeeeees in the late game, and shRED was up 5-2 BL&L. That's "before Lindsay and Liam." Once the Bees' duo arrived, they went on an epic tear, taking half 8-7, and riding their undead chilly flow to a 15-9 victory. Billy Franz continued his opportune cutting, including the game winning score.
Apologies to everyone who has been wondering about league jerseys. There was a delay with our order, and now our contact is seeing if the order can be expedited. We should still have official kit to wear by playoffs.
Speaking of what to wear - have you and your teammates discussed costumes for our Halloween games? They are happening a week from Monday, on October 23rd. The Skellies were already in the spirit with a full-sized skeleton cheering for them on tonight's sideline. I hear their name is Callie, short for Calcium.
