Summer 2023 Championship, Awards and All-Star Game 

Top-seeded Purple Rain and 3rd-seed Sky Bison met to decide the Summer 2023 Championship tonight at the Kiln. Both squads were hyped as they circled up before the game. Purple Rain started on offense. They worked the disc downfield and held as co-captains Lindsay and Mirsad connected for the game's first score. Lucas got a D on the ensuing possession and both teams tried long throws to score before Wes found Mike Moran on a deep huck for Purple, scoring a break and putting Purple up 2-0. 

Liam completed a long pass to Marisa to set up the Sky Bison's first score, Keegs to Flynn. 2-1, Purple still in the lead. On the next possession, Christina completed a long throw to Amir, who threw back to Christina to hold, 3-1 Purple. The next point was back and forth, Liam incomplete looking for Keegs for a score, then Lindsay incomplete looking for Mirsad for Purple, finally the McCarthy brothers connected on a big huck from Liam to Flynn and a hold for the Bison, 3-2 Purple still on top.

Liam got a D on the next point, leading to a Bison score from Flynn to Keegs. With the break, Sky Bison tied the score at 3-3. Next point, Jane to Lindsay for a score as Purple held and went back on top 4-3. Liam to Flynn again for Sky Bison tied the game at 4-4. Marisa got a D on the next point, and completed the bookends for a Sky Bison break and their first lead of the game, 4-5.

Jane to Lindsay again, Purple held and tied the score 5-5. Great handler flow for Sky Bison on the next point ended in a score from Vin to Breezy, Bison led 5-6, and they called timeout. On the next point, Lucas found a sprinting Amir on a full field throw right after the pull. The sideline went wild as Amir spiked the disc. Purple tied 6-6. Liam found Marisa on a big huck to put the Sky Bison back on top 6-7. Lucas to Mike Moran for Purple, 7-7. 

Next point, Sky Bison worked the disc downfield and Marisa yelled, "I'M POOOOOAAAAACHED!" Liam got the message and sent a no-look throw her way for a score. Bison took half 7-8 and up a break.

Bison received the second half pull, but turned the disc over. Jane found Buck for a Purple Rain break to tie again 8-8. Purple had two break chances fall incomplete before Dave Atwood found Bri for a Bison hold, 8-9. Christina put up a huge throw for Purple. Liam got up and appeared to get the D, but Amir came away with the disc for an insane Purple Rain score, 9-9. Lucas got a D on the next point, but Purple threw the disc out of bounds. A White huck to Liam appeared incomplete, but there was an uncontested foul call in the end zone. Liam took the disc at the line and found his brother Flynn for the Bison score, 9-10. Evan tested Keegan deep, and Keegs made the D. Keegs followed up with an assist to Marisa, sliding for the 9-11 Bison score. Timeout, Purple Rain.

Lindsay to Lucas for a Purple hold, 10-11. Liam to Vin for a Sky Bison hold, 10-12. Purple turn leads to a break chance for Sky Bison. Zack throws to Flynn. Lucas made the D, but the sidelines thought there might have been a foul. No call, but Purple turned the disc right back. This time, Liam found Zack for a Bison score, 10-13. Purple Rain marched down the field and Flynn and Mirsad got tangled for an uncontested foul call. Mirsad tapped the disc in and found Evan for a Purple hold, 11-13. On the next play, Flynn slipped during his cut creating a break chance for Purple Rain. Liam skied to get a D, and found Keegs for a Bison hold, 11-14. 

Purple Rain needed points to stay in the game. Amir made a nice cut, but was robbed by Flynn making a full layout D in the end zone. After the turn, Liam threw to Bri for the win. Championship, Sky Bison, 11-15.
