After a few days of rain, it was beautiful at the Kiln tonight. The early game was the fourth round of the Battle of the Beverages. To this point, the recipe has been two parts White Claw and one part Juice. Juice opened the game with a break for a score, and added another to lead 3-1. There was a long point where both teams had chances to score, and White Claw ended up with a hold. Another break would have really helped Juice's momentum, but after the Claw hold, they went on a run to take half up 8-5. Juice made a nice comeback in the second half, going on a three point run capped by another really long point that ended with a break score to Brian Funicelli. That narrowed White Claw's lead to 10-9, but that was as close as Juice could get. Claw regained their three point lead and went on to win the game 14-11, hard cap. Walter commented that it felt like a club game.
The late game was a match-up of interstellar aubergine freebooting, as Black Pearl attempted to waylay Galactic Eggplant. Nina made one of the greatest catches of the season in the back corner of the end zone to score for Black Pearl. Mirsad threatened to put Bobby in a box, but Bobby proved that the best eggplants are fresh, never boxed. Ultimately, Eggplant managed to escape Pearl's buccaneers in a 15-8 Purple victory.
