The weather forecast called for rain, but the field was open and we decided to play. The Flexcast™ indicated, "There is going to be rain but thunderstorms might be avoided." I note plausible deniability in the Flexcast, since thunderstorms might have been avoided by staying home and not playing tonight, but I digress.

The early game between White Claw and Black Pearl got off to a late start, and stayed on serve until Claw got a break to take half 8-7. Claw held to go up 9-7 to start the second half and by then it was nearly 8PM, when teams agreed to hard cap. Black Pearl made a late push, but the Claw held on to pinch the Pearl 11-10. Both teams played a lot of zone defense, with plenty of help from the wind and wet.

The late game matched Juice and Eggplant in a contest of sweet vs savory. Both teams had very low turnout, and added some guests who figured they couldn't get much wetter after playing in the early game. Both teams also played some zone, similar the early game. It was a good night to make that move. The first few points were damp, as Galactic Eggplant built a savory lead. Juice lost Sammy when she hurt her shoulder making a fierce bid, but she returned to the game like a champion after sitting a few points. Rain picked up quite a bit, and the last few points were not much fun, especially for the watered-down Juice squad. Eggplant got the win 15-6.

Three more regular season game nights - one more match up with each team before playoffs. Remember the last night of the regular season, Monday, October 24th, is also our Halloween games. Time to get your costume situation figured out, and make sure your candy catching game is on point.
