Pinky Promise went white(ish) for their matchup with Blood in the early game. Blood had strong attendance and played well, but Pinky Promise escaped with a win 15-11.

Black had a lot of Crows that had flown the coop, and only four were available for their game tonight so they graciously forfeited to Green Tea. Both teams picked up some players and played a fun game that featured a number of long hammers that were not caught in the endzone. Bobby Owens tried the classic "If I lie down in the endzone, I will not be seen, and then I can stand up and make a defensive play," and it actually worked! Black only had six players on the line for the last few points of the game. Black and friends won on the scoreboard, but the result officially counts as a 7-0 win for Green. Green and friends ended the game with a Callahan - a nice way to cap a spirited contest.

The late game was a hotly contested battle for first place in the standings. Blu Tang Clan held a one game lead over Cloud 9, and had split the season series with Cloud 9 1-1 so far this season (with their first matchup being rained out). Tonight was the last night the teams played each other before the playoffs. Cloud 9 got the win 15-8, and won the season series over Blu 2-1, taking over the 1 seed in the standings with two nights of games left before playoffs begin.

Safe travels, good times, and good play to everyone headed to Wildwood this weekend. We have the field for pickup on Monday, 8/1, while many players will likely be recovering. If you are around, come to the Kiln and play - 7 PM start, but feel free to come earlier to throw and socialize. Remember to bring a reversible pinny or a light and a dark, plus your water, cleats, and perhaps a disc and your favorite flavor of bug spray.

We have regular season games on Thursday, 8/4, and Monday, 8/8, before playoffs begin on Thursday, 8/11. Cloud 9 and Blu Tang Clan have clinched the 1 and 2 seeds. Though they could still switch places before the playoffs start, they will both have a bye on 8/11 while the 3-6 and 4-5 matchups happen. Semifinals on 8/15 and the championship, summer awards and the league all star game will be on Thursday 8/18. I will ask captains for team all stars next week, and once those are announced, I will post ballots for the season awards and at-large all stars.

Registration for our fall league costs $65 and it is open now. Both the interest form and DiscNY registration are required. Sign up by August 22. Like last year, there is a discount for returning summer players.
