It was a beautiful night at the Kiln, and attendance was exceptional for all teams - especially knowing club players had to be sore and tired after a long weekend at USAU Northeast Regionals in Massachusetts. The sidelines looked like a 4th of July picnic, and players had to find a spot to cleat up. White Claw even had a pack of dogs cheering them on.
Claw got on a tear in the early game, taking half 8-0 over Galactic Eggplant. The Eggplants had a great halftime talk, and won the second half 8-6, but Claw rode their big lead to victory, 14-8 hard cap.
The Juice started on defense in the late game and broke Black Pearl three points in a row to start things off. Pearl's zone defense started clicking in the middle of the first half, and they scored four points in a row to climb back into the game. Juice took half 8-6, and received the pull to start the second. Black Pearl continued to keep it close, narrowing the lead to only one point, but amid sideline chants of, "SLUUUUUUURP... the Juice," Juice held on to win 15-12.
See the poll on the league's Facebook page to vote on how we should handle Halloween. If you don't use Facebook, talk to your captains about your preference. There are three options:
Celebrate our league's Halloween game on Monday 10/24 (the last games of the regular fall season) and keep the 2nd round of the playoffs on Halloween night the following Monday, 10/31. Remember, our fall season playoffs are double-elimination. (This is how our schedule is currently drawn up.)
Celebrate our Halloween game on 10/24, and cancel playoff games on Halloween night the following Monday, so players can do other stuff.
Move our league's Halloween game to Halloween night and get costumed and candied-up for a playoff game.
