The early game sidelines were alive with shanty jigs and bear dances as Black Pearl faced off against the Polar Bears. The air was filled with discs and pirate calls of "Yar" and "Ahoy." Black Pearl built an advantage on the scoreboard, but those pesky bears were after the pirate booty. After giving up a lead recently in a big Blood comeback, tonight it was the Polar Bears who came from behind to snatch a win over Black Pearl 14-13, hard cap. The bears in white have won two in a row.
Blood opened the late game with a break score, as the injured Ben Phillips made sure to find Scooby Blue's snacks on the sidelines. After that, however, Blood spent the rest of the first half on their heels before finally getting a single Type-O (offense) point. Scooby Blues were up big, 8-2. Blood worked on their story at half. (As I'm sure you know, it is almost always the person who tells the story who ends up being the ghost.) Playing the second half to a draw allowed Blood to retain some pride, but it wasn't enough to overcome their anemic start. The final was 15-9, Scooby Blue. With the win, the Blues pulled into a first place tie with Blood red, and the teams have split their two games so far this season.
